I am a mixed media artist with my art gradually developing over what is now a 40-year practice. Originally from Australia, I have also lived in Brazil and am now resident in the UK. My subject matter tends to be related to family and events from “Our own back yard”. I like to explore the places we have been to, and how a space reflects the people of those places.

I am perhaps most naturally a sculptor, but I am equally drawn to painting, drawing and technical art. This is why I have often employed mixed media in my work. Recently I have been creating miniature wall hung art exploring architectural spaces and how they reflect the environment and the people that occupy them.

My mixed media palette includes various species of timber, metal, stone, modelling clay, paint, plastics and found object when appropriate amongst others.  (I really like working with timber which gives me a great sense of satisfaction not to mention a proud link to the builder’s heritage of my father and grandfather.) Material selection is important to imbibe the mood and context for my work.
